Bennington began as a manufacturer of carriages over 40 years ago. Our combination of exceptional craftsmanship and world class customer service has been recognized by the award of a Royal Warrant - Carriage Supplier to HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
During the late 1990’s our founder Michael Mart searched for quality dining furniture for the family home. After failing to find anything suitable, a decision was made to manufacture it ‘in-house’ which resulted in the formation of Bennington Furniture.
Bennington Furniture is made to the same exacting standards as our renowned carriages, with skilled metalwork and upholstery designed and manufactured in our Nottinghamshire workshops by our highly skilled craftspeople. The combination of skilled metal craftsmanship, designer fabrics, glass and granite has resulted in a range of stylish furniture that will complement every home.
We strongly believe in the values of the small family business and remain family owned and operated. Wendy, the founder’s daughter, runs the furniture business whilst the carriage business is run by Sue - Wendy’s sister. Our commitment is simple: make the finest products and offer the best customer service whilst maintaining a strong ethical and environmental commitment. Many of our suppliers have been supplying Bennington for over 40 years and the first piece of furniture made is in daily use – a stark contrast to today’s increasingly "disposable" approach to manufacturing.
